Why do people think WWF and WWE were different?
Some idiots actually seem to think WWF was a different company, they say RIP WWF. Do you know how ridiculously dumb you sound? If it was still WWF it would still be like it is today, all that has changed is one letter, the product hasn't gotten worse because they changed the name, it just so happens that the product got shittier WHEN they changed the name. Saying WWF is better than WWE is like you actually think they are seperate, which makes you sound like a complete retard.

- Nah, I think they're just saying that once the name changed, the program also changed. It seems like around the time they switched to Entertainment over Federation, things went downhill.. Although yeah, there are times I wonder if people do think they're 2 seperate companies but for the MOST PART, they're just talking about the way things seemed to change when they "got the F out". But yeah.. that question always seems a bit goofy to me, too. I just try to go with the flow and HOPE they know its the same company.
- True, and in all honesty WWE was still pretty good before then. Unless you are refering to the era of greats like Lesnar, Angle, Benoit, Cena, Eddie, and others. I mean it was WWF for a while in there too I believe. Regardless, I have to agree that referring to them seperately is a tad silly. It's not as though Vince said "Well, the F is gone. Throw the title on HHH for a year. I don't care anymore."
- wwf and wwe are diffrent because i think back then it was an whole company but now it just enterimant
- They don't necessarily see it as a different company - it WAS a different era and I say RIP to the WWF era. To say you prefer one over the other isn't stupid at all, it's simply saying you prefer a particular era over another. I like both era's although to watch matches from the WWF era now is plain wierd (from watching the vintage collection on Sunday)
- WWF existed at the time when they had to compete against WCW therefore they had to put out the most effort to get the edge, which they eventually did & by 2001 World Wrestling Federation Entertainment Incorporated (full name at the time) bought World Championship Wrestling. Then came the World Wildlife Fund vs World Wrestling Federation lawsuit in 2002 which the latter won forcing the WWF to change to the WWE. Essentially the WWE name began when there was no main competition in the pro wrestling world. Sure TNA has since emerged but as of right now they are no credible threat to the WWE, only beating ECW in ratings. Simply put WWF and WWE = same. The Attitude Era and The Entertainment Era = different (various reasons)
